Plum Card Benefits

Here is a quick and dirty rundown of the benefits. AMEX Plum card benefits include:
- Early Pay Discount - Paying the bill in full within 10 days of the billing cycle and will let you receive a 2% discount, when it exceeds $5,000. Months that charges are $5,000 or less will receive a 1% discount for early payment. The credit will appear on the following months statement
- Defer Pay Option - This option lets you take up to 2 months from the billing cycle date to pay for new purchases in full. This will be without interest/finance charges.
- Payment cycle selection- You can choose to have the bill delivered at the beginning, middle or end of the month
- No pre-set spending, like other Amex charge cards. Your ability to spend is determined by your habits and payment history.
- Amex Plum first year is free. After the first year there is a $185 annual fee
- One free additional card, the rest are $45 each
- Access to the OPEN Savings program. The program offers savings on travel and business services like Delta, JetBlue, Fedex Kinko’s, and Hyatt
- Also includes standard protection like other Amex cards for car rental loss & damage insurance, baggage insurance, travel accident insurance, buyers assurance plan, purchase protection insurance
I believe this covers everything, oh, and the card is plum colored. Between the color, initial exclusivity, and the cash back, it is the next best thing to the Centurion card.

I know this may be a dumb question but I applied for and received a plum card. I own a small business and always operated with cash and a simple debit card. Is the plum card a regular credit card or is it primarily for business expenses , in other words is it for specific items like a Frequent Flyer Credit Card. Thanks….
